Gradina - Golden Sands

Aladja Monastery (3 km) - one of the few preserved and accessible rock monasteries in Bulgaria, dating from the early Middle Ages and of enormous cultural significance. Monastic cells and a small church have been dug into the sheer rock. You can still see colourful frescoes that date back as far as the 13th century. Pobitite Kamuni (36 km) - meaning "Rammed Stones", these stone structures were formed by erosion around 50 million years ago and contain numerous fossils. Many of these stones served as places of worship during the Thracian, Slavonic and ancient Bulgarian periods.
