Avalon is in a quiet residential part of town, specialising in family holidays with some of the best views of the Pirin mountains. Run by a British family, we are perfectly situated a short walk from the lift and the center of the old town.

The hotel has been fitted out to the highest standards using local materials, all the rooms have en suite bathrooms, cable TV and a connection to the internet, some have mini bars and balconies the furnishings have been hand made combining local craftsmanship with modern style. One of Bulgaria's best-kept secrets, the historic town of Bansko is situated in the south west of the country in the foothills of the beautiful Mount Pirin. The mountain's twin peaks soar to over 2900m and its breathtaking alpine beauty combined with the area's history has resulted in its adoption as a World Heritage site. Bansko's re-emergence as Bulgaria's 'newest' international ski resort owes much to its good snow record and excellent ski runs, catering for skiers of all standards, from beginners to experts, in a season which lasts from mid December to mid April. The many cultural monuments and museums of the town add a historic ambiance which blends perfectly with the facilities of a modern ski resort.

Bansko is situated 170 km from the international airport of Bulgaria's capital city, Sofia. Transfer time is approximately 3 hours. Transfer from/to Sofia airport organized on request - EUR 70 per car each way. We can arrange transport to and from Bansko. Either private cars and drivers or with minibuses for larger groups.

We have a lobby bar where you can relax in front of the fire, and a restaurant offering French and Italian food and a fine selection of local beers and wines. We also offer an Indian buffet on Thursdays.
